I fail to understand the reasoning behind building wind farms in the UK, when energy output from them is negligible (and that's only when the wind is blowing). Even if wind farms were built over every available inch in the UK, they wouldn't even come close to producing enough energy to meet our country's requirements. Obviously the only benefactors are the Government for meeting so called "targets" for green energy and the energy suppliers who are no doubt set to receive huge pay-outs in providing same. I am certain that if more of the population were wise to the actual facts and figures, wind farms would have no backing from the public. On a personal note, I was shocked to learn that my own energy supplier, Scottish Power, is behind the Harvington wind farm plans.
