Putting things in scale

My initial thoughts when I heard about the windfarm, were “Great, – an excellent idea” then I saw just how big these things are.

In addition, according to the person from ScottishRenewables, they need to be placed laterally to the win direction 250m – 300m apart and in the wind direction 500m apart.

So a wind farm of 10 126m high turbines will occupy an abosulte minimum of 500m x 1,200m,  each one takes up the space of 20 football pitches – so the total farm will cover the area of over 200 football pitches
