ScottishPower Renewables Confirms Plans for Lenchwick Windfarm

By stoplenchwickwindfarm | January 31, 2009

Thanks to everyone for a fantastic turn out  – over 100 Vale residents turned out on a bitterly cold Thursday evening to get the message over to ScottishPower Renewables that we don’t want an Industrial Wind Power Station in the Vale of Evesham.

Speaking to an audience of over 120 farmers at Thursday’s NFU Renewables conference at Pershore College, David Walker, Projects Director at ScottishPower Renewables reaffirmed the company’s plans for the area – 10 monstrous turbines 125 m high.

After delivering a formal presentation of the project, David Walker took a few questions – hear what he has to say:

When asked,  “When he would take into account the views of the local population”

David Walker, replied “Our considerations are limited by policy and regulations…If we can meet the requirements of Landscape Assessment, Noise, Ecology etc, then we will submit a planning application.

Here the full, unedited question and answer here for yourself, and decide wether they really are taking account of your views:

Nothing in it for Worcestershire Farmers
Also, when the panel were asked how many farmers in England would benefit from planting Miscanthus (aka Elephant Grass – and how many farmers in England are benefiting from ScottishPower Renewables: listen for yourself:

And when asked how much money can be earned David Walker replied “you’re gauranteed 20 years of revenue at the power price PLUS the Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROC’s)”

As well as a big thank you to all our supporters, we would particularly like to say a BIG THANKYOU to Pershore College who were very helpful in enabling us to stage our protest.
